I have nothing but praise for Sarah and her team who catered for my late wife’s funeral wake. Everything that was promised and agreed was delivered in a calm and understated way for seventy friends and family and the delicacy of the occasion was reflected in their discrete and sympathetic service.

The menu was well balanced, extensive and delicious. The delivery and clearance seemed effortless, which is further testament to the professionalism of the team.

I can unhesitatingly recommend them. A delight from start to finish.

Finding Sarah came as a huge relief after my father died in 2015. She was very approachable and friendly and understood our needs very well. As many of our relatives are Jewish, it was important to work with someone who was prepared to work sensitively and with tact.

When my mother died two years later, it was quite simple; we just went straight to Sarah who organised not only food and drink but also beautiful flowers to put around the house. As before, Sarah and her staff were so sweet, kind and unobtrusive. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

My memory of both these events is that they were not unhappy but a way of celebrating two long lives, well lived. My thanks to Sarah for making this possible.

In a time of great loss and grief, Sarah came to my rescue by taking the pressure off me on the day of the funeral to cook for the family and friends who were coming from all over the country and further afield to our home. It was beautiful to be greeted after the funeral with delicious, hot, home cooking as it gave us great comfort and was good for the soul. Thank you for your strength on the day.

My wife Tessa’s funeral wake was unusual in that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and yet was of very clear mind to use her remaining few weeks to organise everything the way she wanted.

It was her wish that there should be a memorial lunch after a private funeral which would be a celebration of her life. This gave Tessa the opportunity to sit down with Sarah and discuss the arrangements in great detail. On the day itself I was struck with the bubble of laughter around the tables of the hundred or so friends and family. The success was a direct result of the careful planning which Sarah and her staff gave the occasion, and I could not be happier that Tessa’s life was reflected so happily and more importantly, exactly as she wanted. I hope others are able to benefit from similar experiences.

My mother was a wonderful cook and all of us five children have at turns felt comforted, nourished and celebrated by our Mum’s cooking so it was very important to us all that when she died, we should pay tribute to this.

Sarah’s approach was wonderful: she recreated some of our Mum’s trusty dishes which meant so much to all of us; sourced ingredients which our Mum would have loved; added her own zest for food and really just helped create that feeling of being looked after which was so important on such a sad day.

Sarah and her staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble and we could all relax and let ourselves be looked-after. Mum would have loved it.
